Artificial Limbs Sent To Syria

India’s Vice President flagged off a team of eight persons to set up an on-the-spot artificial limb (Jaipur Foot) fitment camp. The team will be setting up a camp in Damascus, Syria to provide 600 artificial limbs to amputees, in 42 ensuing days.

Shri Dhankhar visited the BMVSS team working in Syria and met some of its beneficiaries using the Jaipur foot. He also interacted with the team led by its founder, Shri D.R. Mehta and other members of the team.
It is noteworthy that in 2017, PM Narendra Modi visited a BMVSS facility in the Philippines, and in 2019, M. Venkaiah Naidu, former vice president, opened a BMVSS fitting camp in Hanoi, Vietnam.
