Zubair of Alt News in trouble again – Police Complaint Filed Against Alt News Mohammed Zubair Over Working In Tandem With Pakistan To Build Khalistan Narrative.
The complaint filed against Zubair who deliberately spreading hate propaganda against Indian Cricket Player – Arshdeep Singh and the entire Sikh Community.
On September 4, cricketer Arshdeep Singh dropped a catch during India’s match against Pakistan. India eventually lost by five wickets. Here’s what followed.
Arshdeep soon became the focus of online trolling. Several tweeples posted tweets seeking to link him and his Sikh background to the separatist Khalistani movement.
Also, the Wikipedia page was edited as well. As per the edit history of the pacer’s Wikipedia page, an unregistered user replaced the words “India” with “Khalistan” at many places on the profile and his name was altered to “Major Arshdeep Singh Bajwa”.
However, the edits were reversed within 15 mins by Wikipedia editors.
Later, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, (MEITY) expressing outrage sent a notice and summoned Wikipedia officials in India and sought an explanation of the act where someone edited the entry to say that the young cricketer is associated with Khalistani movement.
“No intermediary operating in India can permit this type of misinformation (a)n(d) deliberate efforts to incitement (a)n(d) user harm – violates our govts expectations of safe and trusted internet,” Minister of State for IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar said.
As online trolling of Singh continued till Monday, Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair, posted screenshots of accounts that had been engaging in this trolling.
Later in the day, Manjinder Singh Sirsa – Former President, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and MLA From Rajouri Garden filed a police complaint against Zubair, accusing him of “spreading hate” against Singh and the Sikh community with his tweets.

In his complaint filed at the Parliament Street police station, Manjinder Sirsa cited the Zubair’s screenshot, where he had shared them against Singh on several handles.

Sirsa alleged that most of these tweets were from ”Pakistani accounts” and Zubair had acted on behalf of anti-national elements.
On many instances, it is found that Zubair takes pleasure hurting religious sentiments.
He urged the officials to lodge an FIR against him and interrogate him to unearth the conspiracy.
It is to be noted that earlier, he was arrested for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of hindus through screenshot of a film in 2018. He was in custody for 24 days until the Supreme Court granted him bail.
Multiple FIRs had been lodged against Zubair in UP against him for various tweets – two in Hathras and one each in Sitapur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Muzaffarnagar, Ghaziabad and Chandauli.
