Prior 2024 elections, the government is considering the possibility of lowering the Petrol and Diesel Prices across all districts and cities in India, including Hyderabad.
According to information from official insiders, there’s a contemplation to reduce Petrol and Diesel Prices by Rs 4-6 per liter.
However, there’s also a possibility of an even greater reduction, with figures going up to Rs 10 per liter not being ruled out. Ongoing discussions between the government and Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) are reportedly taking place to finalize these potential adjustments.
Sources indicate that the central government is inclined towards lowering petrol and diesel prices in Hyderabad and other districts across India.
This move is being considered in light of the consistent crude oil rates, which have remained in the range of USD 70 to USD 80 per barrel for the past three months.
Right now, the cost of Brent crude oil is USD 77.42 per barrel.
Oil prices went down recently because worries about shipping issues in the Red Sea eased up. On Wednesday, the prices fell by almost 2 percent because big shipping companies started operating again in the Red Sea.
Given the current situation, it would be more feasible for the central government to bring down the prices of petrol and diesel in Hyderabad and other districts across India.
It is to be noted that In recent months, the prices of petrol and diesel in Hyderabad and other major cities across India have stayed the same without any fluctuations.
The prices in metro cities are as follows:
