The Government of J&k has declared to make Maharaja Hari Singh’s birth anniversary, September 23, a public holiday.
A notice to that effect has been sent to all the concerned department heads.
It it to be noted that, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha made the statement last week after meeting with a team of senior political leaders, Yuva Rajput Sabha members, and civil society activists at the Raj Bhavan in Jammu.
Maharaja Hari Singh was a brilliant educator, innovative thinker, social reformer, and towering figure of ideas and values.
Mr Sinha believes the public holiday will be a suitable homage to Maharaja Hari Singh’s illustrious heritage.
