Controversy Brews as Prakash Raj’s Moon Mission Joke Sparks Backlash
A recent social media post by actor Prakash Raj regarding India’s Chandrayaan-3 Moon mission has ignited a strong wave of controversy online.
The 58-year-old actor shared an illustration that featured an old Malayali joke involving a tea seller on the Moon.
Some individuals on platform X, formerly known as Twitter, perceived this as a sarcastic and offensive comment directed at the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
In response to the ensuing backlash, Prakash Raj has offered clarification, explaining that the post was based on “a joke of Armstrong times,” referring to the era of astronaut Neil Armstrong’s lunar landing.
He further clarified that he was celebrating the notion of a Kerala chaiwallah (tea seller) in a light-hearted manner.
He questioned which aspect of the chaiwala the critics had focused on and suggested that if the humor was not understood, then the lack of comprehension was the issue. The actor concluded with the message “GROW UP #justasking,” in his new tweet.
Hate sees only Hate.. i was referring to a joke of #Armstrong times .. celebrating our kerala Chaiwala .. which Chaiwala did the TROLLS see ?? .. if you dont get a joke then the joke is on you .. GROW UP #justasking https://t.co/NFHkqJy532

However, this has not gone well with the Indians who shredded Prakash Raj in their own ways.
A netizen tweet suggested he cease with the excuses, remove his post, and issue an apology.
Chandrayaan is not a subject to be trivialized or joked about; rather, it is a source of pride, an opportunity to acknowledge the dedication of our scientists.
Numerous alternative ways exist to convey your dissatisfaction with the Prime Minister, yet your limited understanding appears to lack the sensitivity required.
Stop the excuse delete your post and apologise
Chandrayaan is not something to make joke and fun around it; rather, it is something to be feel proud of, to appreciate the Hard-work of our scientists
many other ways to express your hatred for the PM, but again can’t expect…

Prakash Raj’s active role as a vocal critic of the ruling party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is well-known to all of us.
His decision to run as an independent candidate in the Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha constituency during the 2019 Indian general election also reflects his desire for politics besides film engagement in the political sphere.
Despite his loss in the election, he never misses any opportunity to mistreat Indian PM Modi and the ruling BJP party as his online participation highlights his commitment to expressing his viewpoints through active political involvement.
However, It’s important to remember that humor and criticism can coexist, but when it comes to achievements like Chandrayaan-3, it’s crucial to maintain a respectful tone. Regardless of one’s political stance, the dedication of our scientists deserves admiration.
Chandrayaan-3’s journey is a testament to India’s advancements in space exploration, and its upcoming landing on August 23 is a moment of anticipation and pride for the nation.
