The Chairman of the Jalpally Municipal AIMIM, along with 3, has been arrested in connection with the murder of an activist in Hyderabad.
The Hyderabad police have arrested four individuals, including the AIMIM Jalpally Municipality chairman, in association with the August 11 murder of 27-year-old activist and former troublemaker, Shaik Sayeed Bin Abdul Rahmaan Bawazeer, in Bandlaguda.
“The police have reported that Bawazeer and the accused Hajeb, both initially met each other in Chanchalguda Central Prison in 2021. Subsequently, they developed a sexual relationship”.
Those in custody have been identified as Ahmed Bin Hajeb, 20, who works as a washing machine mechanic and has a history of causing trouble; Abdullah Saadi, 30, the current chairman of the Jalpally Municipality; his father Ahmed Saadi, 50; and a close associate of Hajeb, Mohammed Ayub Khan.
Two other suspects, Saleh Saadi, and Omer Saadi, remain at large.
The South East Zone’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ch Rupesh, informed the press that investigations have unveiled a criminal conspiracy relating to the murder caused by Bawazeer’s social media exposure criticizing the lack of progress in Jalpally.

Bawazeer had critically targeted Abdullah Saadi and others in his posts. According to the report, the defendants had negotiated with Bawazeer, who had previously blackmailed them.
The probe revealed that he had obtained approximately Rs 9 lakh from the accused individuals, the Deputy Commissioner of Police added.
As per police statements, Bawazeer and the suspect, Hajeb, encountered each other in Chanchalguda central prison in 2021, where they started a sexual relationship.
Even post their release, they sporadically contacted each other, with Bawazeer pressuring Hajeb to involve his friends as well.
At one point, Bawazeer attempted to assault Mohammed Ayub Khan, leading to both him and Hajeb nurturing resentment towards Bawazeer.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police noted that Abdullah Saadi and others exploited Hajeb’s resentment towards Bawazeer, using Hajeb as a tool in their own schemes, acknowledging fully the grudge he had against Bawazeer.
The DCP stated, “Bawazeer had a habit of recording numerous videos in which he criticized and defamed Abdullah Saadi as well as others.
The act included blackmailing strategies, compelling them to pay him. As a resolution, Hajeb was employed as a tool. Omar Saadi pledged a sum of Rs 13 lakh for this murder as a reward”.
On the late night of August 10th, Bawazeer was lured into his office under the pretext of securing a business partner by Hajeb and Mohammed Ayub Khan.
Once inside, Hajeb threw chili pepper in his eyes before stabbing him with a concealed knife, instantly resulting in Bawazeer’s death, said the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).
Further investigations into the case led to charges of criminal conspiracy being appended to the existing murder charge.
As per the police, the four accused were produced before the magistrate and sent to judicial remand. Moves are underway to apprehend absconding suspects.
