As January 1, 2024, has been declared a public holiday for New Year’s Day, the state government has decided to cancel the holiday on the 2nd Saturday in February 2024.
While the Telangana government has declared a holiday for New Year’s Day, the police in Hyderabad and other districts of the state are taking steps to ensure peaceful celebrations.
The Hyderabad city police have issued a comprehensive list of dos and don’ts for both partygoers and organizers of pubs, clubs, and other parties for New Year celebrations.
If you’re thinking of throwing a party that goes on until 1 am at places like clubs, bars, restaurants, pubs, or hotels in Hyderabad, you’ll need to get the green light from the police beforehand.
The Hyderabad police are also making sure that New Year’s celebrations in the city stay drug-free.
Remember, on New Year’s Day, banks in Telangana will be closed because it’s officially recognized as a holiday according to the Negotiable Instruments Act.
In addition to the New Year’s Day break, the state government has marked 3 more days in January as general holidays, giving everyone a chance to unwind and enjoy some well-deserved time off.
