Under the updated advisory, oil marketing companies have highlighted several important points for LPG users.

These are not entirely new laws but operational and compliance guidelines designed to improve safety, prevent misuse, and streamline cylinder distribution.

• Ensuring only active LPG connections remain operational
• Encouraging timely refill bookings
• Preventing duplicate or inactive consumer accounts

According to reports, OMCs have also reassured consumers that there is currently adequate LPG stock and no immediate shortage concerns.

One of the key highlights of the advisory is the increasing emphasis on PNG connections, particularly in metro cities and urban regions where pipeline infrastructure is expanding rapidly.

BPCL, one of the country’s major fuel retailers, has reportedly introduced offers encouraging LPG users to shift from cylinders to PNG where available.

PNG is being promoted because it offers:

• Reduced dependence on cylinder deliveries
• Lower storage risks inside homes
• Potentially lower long-term operating costs

• Complete pending KYC updates if required
• Book refills only through authorised platforms

• Check subsidy status regularly
