These projects will cover various types of roads, including state highways and major district roads. In addition, an allocation of 181.71 crore has been made for the construction of 8 bridges under the CRIF Scheme for the fiscal year 2023-24.
This investment is aimed at improving the connectivity and infrastructure in Ladakh.
Sri Gadkari highlighted that Ladakh, being the largest Union Territory in terms of area and the second least populous in India, will experience better connections to its distant villages through the sanctioned projects.
He mentioned that this improvement is likely to boost economic activities, especially in sectors like agriculture and tourism, thereby playing a significant role in the overall development of Ladakh’s infrastructure.
