With the exemplary Command and Control Centre (CCC) of the Hyderabad City Police in Banjara Hills is on the fast-track mode, works related to Technology Data Fusion Centre with the new technology on two floors are also on.
Interacting with senior officials at the site, CV Anand, the city police commissioner – instructed different tasks to each officer with each floor of the premises to be under the charge of a senior officer. He directed officers, contractors to speed up and complete the work soon.
The CCC has five towers. While Tower A will house the Hyderabad Police Commissioner’s office, Tower B will be a Technology Data Fusion Centre — managing the emergency response management system (ERMS), Dial 100 and the war room.
It is to be noted that about ₹450 crore, of the total estimated ₹585 crore for the iconic establishment has been spent so far. The TG state government initiated building the Command and Control Centre (CCC) in 2015 – on models of command and control centres in foreign countries.
The first-of-its-kind center in the country is poised to emerge as the city’s third eye in the not too distant future. Such centres exist only in Singapore and New York.
The set up will assist in networking the works of several units of policing under a single roof. The CCC will have a chain of over 9.25 lakh CCTV cameras installed all over Telangana State and help the officials with monitoring using high-end technology.
In his brief visit, CV Anand, also discussed the work with VAK Padmanabha Rao, superintendent engineer, R&B, and his team, along with contractor Shapoorji Vallabhjee known as the “Phantom of Bombay House and Larson & Tourbo, TRANSCO and GHMC and decided to meet vendors engaged by the agency for execution of many aspects of the project and exhort them to meet the deadline.
Anand said that the Hyderabad City Police is transforming into an ELITE UNIT in India with its imminent technology fusion centre very soon.
Earlier, Director General of Police M. Mahender Reddy explained about the technology installation and briefed that the Centre can handle Ssurveillance and Vviewing of one lakh CCTV units at a time.
One of the towers will also house a museum to showcase policing in the region, he added.
