9 boys and 10 girls from 18 States and UTs, To Get Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2024
On January 22, 2024, the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, will honor 19 outstanding children with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar at Vigyan Bhawan.
The awardees, 9 boys and 10 girls from 18 States and UTs, will be recognized for their exceptional achievements in Art and Culture, Bravery, Innovation, Science & Technology, Social Service, and Sports.
Following the award ceremony, on January 23, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will engage with the awardees, and Minister of Women & Child Development, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani and Minister of State, Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai will personally congratulate the children for their remarkable performances in their respective categories.
The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) is a distinguished award bestowed by the Government of India to recognize and celebrate the exceptional achievements of children.
This prestigious award is dedicated to children in the age group of 5 to 18 years who have displayed outstanding excellence in seven distinct categories.
These categories include Art & Culture, Bravery, Environment, Innovation, Science & Technology, Social Service, and Sports, all of which are deemed worthy of national recognition.
This initiative is a testament to the government’s commitment to acknowledging and encouraging the exceptional talents and achievements of young individuals across various domains.
These 9 boys and 10 girls from 18 States and UTs, will each receive a Medal and Certificate in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
The selection process involved widespread publicity, nominations from various sources, and rigorous verification to ensure the integrity of the claims.
The Ministry of Women & Child Development took special measures to increase nominations, using artificial intelligence for data gathering and involving the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights in recommending deserving candidates.
After the Screening Committee Meeting, the selected profiles underwent further scrutiny by National Level Independent Experts from diverse domains.
These experts represented institutions and organizations such as Sangeet Natak Akademi, Central Reserve Police Force, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Indian Space Research Organisation, Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Indian Institute of Public Administration, and Sports Authority of India, among others.
The thorough examination by these independent experts aimed to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of the shortlisted profiles.
Subsequently, the National Selection Committee meticulously reviewed the shortlisted profiles to make the final selection.
This multi-layered process involved experts from various fields, contributing to a fair and comprehensive assessment of the candidates’ achievements and contributions.
