Mass Deportation of Telugu Students Exposes Immigration Scandal: Counterfeit Documents
Immigration authorities in the United States expelled a set of students originating from the Telugu-speaking states, of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh respectively
Allegedly, these students were in possession of counterfeited financial documents. Furthermore, sources indicate that these students were communicating with other immigrants, purportedly to assist them in illicitly securing employment within the country.
A reliable source has stated that around 17 to 18 students from Telugu states denied entering the country as they were unable to produce documents validating that they have sufficient funds for their stay.
Further, it has been revealed through a scrutiny of their WhatsApp conversations that these students were in contact with agents to forge the requisite amount in their bank accounts for clearing the immigration process.
Initially, the students were detained at the point of entry due to illegible answers to officers. It is said that upon being inquired about their financial statements, their responses were ambiguous.
Few stated that their education was parent-sponsored, while others suggested they possessed educational loans, to which the officers were not convinced.
According to a local consultant closely connected with the situation, the individuals in question allegedly failed to provide any confirming documentation to substantiate their claims.
Aside from their interactions with agents, their social media interactions with other students and local residents in the US also exposed their intentions.
They sought assistance in arranging work in readiness for their imminent arrival in the U.S.A, the consultant elaborated.
Vishweshwar Reddy Kalavala, the Founder and Chairman of the Global Telangana Association based in Washington DC, has verified the incident involving students seeking help from the organization.
He stated, “We did receive solicitations from some students. Prior to providing any assistance, we carried out comprehensive investigations.
The verification process uncovered the fact that these students had made use of counterfeit documents to obtain university admissions.”
Although there have been rumors about the implicated students facing a ban on entering the US for up to 5 to 10 years, this has not been confirmed by the organization.
