On January 16, a passenger unfortunately found himself stuck inside the lavatory for about an hour on the SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru, due to a malfunction in the door lock while the aircraft was airborne.
Throughout the journey, our crew assisted and guided the passenger.
Upon arrival, an engineer opened the lavatory door, and immediate medical support was provided to the passenger,” stated the spokesperson.
The incident took place on SpiceJet flight SG-268, which departed from Mumbai airport at 2 am, as reported by the aviation team.
The passenger had apparently headed to the restroom shortly after the seatbelt signs were turned off.
Upon realizing that there was no option to open the door, one of the air hostesses comforted the passenger by slipping a note.
The note conveyed, “Sir, we tried our best to open the door; however, we could not.
Do not panic. We are landing in a few minutes, so please close the commode lid sit on it and secure yourself. As soon as the main door is open, an engineer will come,” as reported by the Airhostess.
