Numaish At Nampally Celebrating 83 Years of Joy and Jubilation at the All India Industrial Exhibition
The 83rd Numaish, also known as the All India Industrial Exhibition, or just an EXHIBITION is gearing up for its grand opening on January 1 at the Nampally Exhibition Grounds.
The organizers, the Exhibition Society, are working hard to ensure everything is set.
Numaish-e-Masnuaat-e-Mulki, commonly known as Numaish, has a rich history that dates back to 1938. Its inception aimed to boost industrial development in the then Hyderabad State by hosting exhibitions showcasing products from small and medium-scale industries across the country.
The inaugural exhibition took place at Public Gardens in 1938 and later moved to the current Exhibition Grounds in 1946.
Back in the good old days, when we were just kids, going to the Nampally Exhibition Grounds was the highlight of our year. It was like stepping into a wonderland of colors, sounds, and excitement.
The journey would start with our parents rounding up the whole gang and piling us into the car. As we approached the exhibition, you could feel the buzz of energy in the air. The anticipation was palpable; we couldn’t wait to dive into the sea of stalls and attractions.

Once inside, it was a sensory overload. Stalls with vibrant toys, delicious snacks, and quirky gadgets surrounded us. The aroma of street food wafted through the air, tempting our taste buds. Our eyes would widen at the sight of giant wheels and thrilling rides that seemed to touch the sky.
The laughter of children and the cheerful tunes of carnival music created an atmosphere of pure joy. We’d tug at our parents’ sleeves, begging to try every ride and sample every treat. The cotton candy, merry-go-rounds, and games of skill – each moment was etched in our memories.
The Nampally Exhibition wasn’t just a place; it was a magical escape where every corner held a new adventure. As the day wound down, we’d leave with tired feet, sticky fingers from treats, and hearts full of happiness. Those visits to the Nampally Exhibition Grounds were the stuff of our childhood dreams, creating memories that we’d carry with us forever.
This exhibition will showcase a variety of products from different states all over India, along with stalls from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The whole event will last for 46 days, ending on February 15. The Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, is expected to kick things off, and there will be around 2,400 stalls for visitors to explore. It’s going to be a fantastic showcase of products and talents from all around the country!
Getting in will cost you Rs.40, but it’s totally worth it because this exhibition is expected to draw in around 22 lakh people.
To make sure everyone stays safe, there are security measures in place. There will be CCTV cameras watching over the entire grounds, and when you enter through Goshamahal, Ajanta Gate, or Gandhi Bhavan, you’ll go through security checks with metal detectors.
Vanam Satyender, the vice president of the All-India Industrial Exhibition Society, shared that the exhibition has garnered an amazing response from traders.
The society has set a motto and is particularly encouraging newcomers and start-ups during the 46-day-long event. In a conversation with our reporter, Satyender revealed that the AIIE Society is all set to make Numaish a grand affair.
This year, the society received a whopping 3,500 applications from traders across the country, showcasing the widespread interest in the exhibition. However, they’ve allocated around 2,500 stalls to accommodate the participating traders.
These stalls will feature a diverse range of offerings, including the sale of various commercial and industrial products, clothing from different states, arts and crafts, handloom items, food stalls, thrilling adventure activities, fun games, and a lineup of engaging cultural programs.
It’s shaping up to be a vibrant and diverse showcase of talents and products from all corners of the country.
Satyender said this year, he is expecting around 25 lakh people to attend. To make things convenient for the visitors, they’ve expanded the pathways to ensure easy movement. On average, they’re anticipating a daily influx of about 45,000 people for the entire 46-day duration. Last year’s Numaish saw over 23 lakh attendees.
Satyender highlighted that many folks who come to Numaish tend to spend their entire day enjoying the festivities.
He emphasized that the event is not just about shopping; it’s a lively and entertaining festival with a vibrant atmosphere, essentially a combination of a shopping extravaganza and a fun-filled entertainment fest.
Every year, Numaish attracts a lot of excited people who come for shopping, delicious food, fun games, and to check out cool stuff from all over the country.
Popular brands like Pista House and Chat Junctions will be there, along with vendors and artists from places like Rajasthan, Kashmir, Lucknow, Delhi, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra, selling clothes, food, and unique handmade items.
Over the years, the Exhibition Society marked significant milestones, celebrating its silver jubilee in 1966, golden jubilee in 1998, diamond jubilee in 2000, and platinum jubilee in 2015.
