KCR, announced that the reservations for Scheduled Tribes have been increased from four per cent to ten per cent.
He added that the policy will be implemented in the next week. The leader made the announcement at the ‘tribal athmiya Sammelanam‘ in Hyderabad.

The state government would enhance reservations to 10 per cent for Scheduled Tribes (STs) in education and employment from next week, from six per cent at present.

Kcr said the President is also an Adivasi child and would not stop the bill being sent to her by the assembly.
He added that there were many tribal workers, intellectuals, poets and writers who spoke about tribal problems.
It is to be noted that, if this bill of 10 per cent quota is implemented for the ST community from next week by issuing a GO, the total reservations will go up to 54 per cent.
It will go up to 62 per cent if the Centre okays enhanced quotas for STs and Muslims.

Currently, the total reservations in TG for the BC, SC and STs stand at 50 per cent, in line with the Supreme Court cap.
Tamil Nadu is implementing 69 per cent reservations.
The Union government has given exemption to Tamil Nadu by incorporating it under the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution to ensure that it cannot be challenged in any court.
