Krishtalina Georgieva Meeting – Today, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, President of India, had a visit from Ms. Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), at Rashtrapati Bhavan (September 9, 2022).
The President welcomed Ms. Krishtalina Georgieva to Rashtrapati Bhavan and noted that the Covid pandemic is now in its third year throughout the world.
She pointed out that numerous low-income nations have benefited significantly from aid from multilateral organizations like the World Bank and the IMF.
She asserted that the IMF must play a significant part in preserving the integrity of the global monetary system.
According to the President, one of the world’s main economies with the quickest growth rates is India. The start-up ecosystem in India is among the best in the world.
The development of our industry can clearly be seen in the success of start-ups in our nation, particularly the rising number of unicorns.
Even more satisfying is the fact that regional differences are decreasing and our nation is developing more inclusively. Compassion is the guiding principle of today’s India—sympathy for the oppressed, compassion for the poor, and compassion for the marginalised.
Speaking about the upcoming G-20 Summit in India in 2023, the President stated that international cooperation in the G-20 should be built on the values of inclusion and flexibility, taking in mind diversity.
