Telangana NATIONAL INTEGRATION DAY – Telangana CM KCR has finally decided to officially observe the incorporation of the Nizam-Ruled Hyderabad state with the Indian Union 74 years back.
National integration means a feeling of oneness and Unity among the people of a country where all the citizens irrespective of any culture live together peacefully.
The decision comes quickly after the Telangana BJP’s demand and agitations for the same since the formation of Telangana state over 8 years back, and ahead of the assembly elections next year.
BJP has accused TRS of being scared of AIMIM for the refusal. However, in a surprising shift the AIMIM party too, announced it would celebrate the day, observing it as a National Integration Day, with a two days event with bike Tiranga rally, collective namaz offerings and a public meeting.
KCR’s announcement on Saturday also came abruptly after Union Tourism Minister Kishan Reddy declared that the Modi government will commemorate “75 years of Hyderabad State Liberation with yearlong remembrance events from 17 Sep 2022 to 17 Sep 2023.

Ironically, the CM KCR decided to observe the day as Telangana National Integration Day and not Telangana Vimochana Diwas as sought by the BJP.
TG BJP head Bandi Sanjay has called KCR’s decision as BJP’s victory, but accused KCR of “manipulating historical facts.”
As per him, the BJP’s stress on the word Vimochana (liberation) is to highlight the FREEDOM gained by the broad area in the Deccan, which is largely Hindu, from the “tyrannical” Nizam rule.
It is to be noted that the Nizami-administration in Hyderabad state, akin with the present Telangana and including Kalyana Karnataka, and parts of Maharashtra, was liberated and integrated with the Indian Union on 17 September 1948, over a year after Indian independence from the British rule.
The Nizam who was initially hesitant to incorporate with India compelled to the merger after OPERATION POLO aka POLICE ACTION under the aegis of India’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
According to the reports, yesterday, Kishan Reddy wrote to the CM of Telangana, Karnataka and Maharashtra inviting them to the opening celebration of the year-long event on 17 Sep 2022 at Hyderabad’s Parade Grounds, which will be addressed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Thereafter the same evening, Telangana CM cabinet approved a resolution to mark September 17 as “Telangana National Integration Day’ and observe festivity for three consecutive days.
A final celebration would be organized on the same date next year to mark the end of states planned Diamond Jubilee functions.
