Elon Musk’s X Technology and Social Media
Elon Musk’s X social media site, previously known as Twitter, is currently experiencing major changes and is now being called “X.”
The modifications include a new logo, replacing the well-recognized blue bird with a unique “X” emblem. Recently, it has been noted that shared URLs from the iOS version of the app now start with “X.com,” instead of the old “twitter.com” domain.
This indicates a considerable shift in the platform’s underlying domain.
It’s noteworthy that Elon Musk, the billionaire business mogul leading this initiative, formally transitioned Twitter’s brand image to “X” in the last month.
Consequently, the app icons for both Android and iOS editions of the platform have been revised to display the new “X” emblem.
In conjunction with this shift, the traditional term “tweets” has been substituted with “posts” for content generated by users.
The momentum seems to be building for a move towards “X.com.” Currently, URLs shared from the iOS app direct to “X.com.”
However, web links and the Android app still redirect users to “twitter.com”. It’s expected that the company will align these differences in the near future.
Elon Musk has confirmed that the future direction of “X.com” is to serve as a portal to the redesigned Twitter platform.
This extensive revamp includes changes in both the logo and the terminology, transitioning from “tweets” to “posts.”
Importantly, there is no change in the naming of the premium subscription, which continues to be called “Twitter Blue.”

Despite the transformations, the platform still grapples with problems concerning ad earnings. Early in July, criticisms arose when Elon Musk introduced limits to the number of posts that readers could view and restricted the use of TweetDeck to verified accounts only.
These strategic adaptations manifest the platform’s attempt to adapt to its changing environment, involving users while balancing existing worries over revenue.
