Hyderabad: College girl accuses Chaitanyapuri police for harassment over property settlement.
Although the police must not enter in civil settlements, few police personnel of Chaitanyapuri were accused of crossing their fence by intervening in property disputes.
D. Monika, a degree first-year college student, alleged that on Tuesday, the Chaitanyapuri PS Constable Chandrakala had threatened and forced her to sign on property bond papers for registering a 200 square-yard plot on her father D. Malsur’s name.
As per the reports, Monika, a native of Krishnapally of Mahbubnagar district, have a land in Jangaon registered on her name by her father when she was a in teens.
After Monika went on to love marriage Bala Shivamani against her father’s will on August 16, she shifted to Chaitanyapuri colony. Since, her father has been pressuring her to re-register the property in his name, Monika alleged.
Further, she complained that her father had met the Chaitanyapuri police and that she was called to the police station on September 3.
In her own words, upon summoning she went to Chaitanyapuri PS at 11 am. “I was shocked when I saw my father Malsur, his employer M. Venkateshwarlu, two mahila mandali members, a local TRS leader Santosh alias Santhu, along with 30 strangers, there,” she alleged.
As per Monika’s complaint, she was called to SHO S. Madhusudhan’s cabin where she was convinced and subtly threatened to sign the bond.
The group of people, and her father, insisted before the SHO that they would take Monika to Jangaon and get the registration in her father’s name,” she alleged.
Monika said, she was continuously intimidated by constable Chandrakala for hours before she was forced to sign the bond papers expressing her willingness to do the registration.
There are CCTVs in the PS through which senior police officials can check, Monika alleged.
She also alleged that TRS leader Santosh, along with two Mahila Mandali members, with group of people broke into her home and warned to harm her and her husband if she didn’t register the plot.
On the other hand, SHO Madhusudhan clarified that the they tried to counsel Monika to settle the dispute. “I didn’t force her. I asked her to sign on the bond papers outside the PS,” he claimed.

- The parties in question have to approach courts for legal redressal not the police over property disputes.
- In the year 2019, Rachakonda Police Commissionarate jurisdiction PS has been directed to stay away from civil disputes by Telangana High Court.
