Sharad Pawar expressed, “I have not received an invitation for the inauguration of the Ram Mandir. I have certain places of faith where I go.
The decision to visit a religious place is a personal matter. I am not making that public. I cannot ascertain whether the BJP is engaging in political or business activities in the name of the Ram temple.”
Meanshile, the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has confirmed that neither she nor any other representative from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) will be in attendance at the inauguration event.
A senior Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader stated to PTI, “There is unequivocally no possibility of Mamata Banerjee or any other TMC representative participating in the forthcoming inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya next month. Our party adheres to the principle of not blending politics with religion.”
On Thursday, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor conveyed his interest in visiting the Ram temple one day and clarified that he has not received an invitation.
He shared, “While being questioned by the awaiting press about my plans to visit Ayodhya, I informed them that I have not been invited. I emphasized that I view religion as a personal attribute and not one to be (mis)used for political purposes.”
On the other hand, despite invitation The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) has confirmed that they will not be attending the event. Party leader Brinda Karat stated, “No, we will not go. We respect religious beliefs, but connecting a religious event with politics is not appropriate. The use of religion as a political tool or to further a political agenda is not right.”
