Another significant apprehension by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has unfolded following the recent capture of HMDA officer Shiva Balakrishna.
This time, it involves a town planning officer caught red-handed accepting a bribe of ₹50,000 in exchange for expediting building permission procedures in Hyderabad.
The Venal, identified as Jagan Mohan, serves as the Deputy Director of Town & Country Planning within the Directorate of Town & Country Planning department.
The ACB’s arrest of Mohan occurred on Wednesday, coinciding with his demand for and acceptance of the bribe from the complainant, V Jithender Reddy. The bribe was solicited to facilitate the issuance of building construction permission.
Note: Bribe entails receiving monetary funds or gifts in return for undertaking actions that contravene ethical or legal standards. Being labeled as a bribe-taker reflects dishonest behavior and potential illegality, making it an undesirable trait.
- Bribery encompasses the act of offering, giving, receiving, or soliciting anything of value with the intent to influence the actions of an individual, typically a public official or someone entrusted with a legal duty.
- The aim is to sway them into acting in a manner contrary to their responsibilities and the established principles of honesty and integrity. Both Offering and Accepting Bribe Is Illegal.
