Unox, a leading Italian manufacturer of professional ovens for the global foodservice, retail, and bakery industries, has launched its first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in India — “Baking a Better Tomorrow.”
The program, launched in collaboration with Learn for Life, an NGO supporting education and skill development among underserved youth, began on October 14 with a hands-on baking workshop at the UNOX Experience Centre in Gurgaon.
The event brought together 30 students from Delhi-based NGOs, giving them a firsthand experience of professional baking using the same high-performance Unox technologies found in world-class cafés, bakeries, and hotels.
Guided by Unox chefs, the participants learned essential baking techniques designed to build both skill and confidence for future careers in hospitality.
Speaking about the initiative, Vikram Goel, Regional Director of Unox India & SEA, said, “On World Food Day, our focus was simple: convert access to equipment into access to opportunity.
By teaching practical skills on the same technology used by professionals, we aim to help young people prepare for careers in modern kitchens.”
The event was attended by Mr. Davide Colombo, Deputy Head of the Economic and Innovation Department at the Embassy of Italy in New Delhi, who commended Unox for blending innovation with education.
It is inspiring to witness an Italian company in India empower youth through skill and technology. This initiative truly reflects how innovation can create meaningful opportunities,” he said.
Learn for Life programme leads Michael and Nicole added, “This partnership isn’t about charity — it’s about empowerment.
For our participants, this was a chance to learn, create, and take their first steps toward sustainable futures in baking and hospitality.”
Unox’s “Baking a Better Tomorrow” is envisioned as a long-term CSR commitment, focusing on skill-building, employability, and social impact through education and innovation.
Founded in Padua, Italy, in 1990, Unox reported €330 million in consolidated revenue in 2024 and continues to expand globally.
The company designs, manufactures, and markets advanced, energy-efficient ovens for professionals worldwide, serving over 110 countries through a team of 1,422 employees, including 135 engineers and scientists dedicated to R&D.
Unox’s cutting-edge Data Driven Cooking (DDC) platform uses IoT and AI to analyze oven usage data, offering personalized recommendations to help chefs and businesses enhance performance and efficiency.
