India’s GreenHeart Dusharla Satyanarayana, a documentary by Chilkuri Sushil Rao, won the Special Jury Award at the Telangana International Film Festival (TIFF).
Notable lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja, TIFF founder, and film director Manjula Surooju, Telangana State Police Academy deputy director R Giridhar, and TIFF from Australia’s Murali Dharmapuri presented the award to the director.
The film festival received 100 entries in total, of which two were chosen for the Special Jury Awards and three for the awards for short films.
The Special Jury Award was also given to a documentary on biodegradable carry bags, the technology for which was created at DRDO and was given to scientist K Veera Brahmam.
“Dusharla Satyanarayana”, a selfless climate activist, is recognized with this award.
The jury’s decision to choose the movie only demonstrates the value they place on the idea of protecting the environment and nature, according to Chilkuri Sushil Rao.

The movie follows the relationship between a mentally challenged widowed mother and her son.
