Neeraj Sharma, a BCA first year student at Poddar International College, Jaipur has received a reward of Rs 38 lakh from Instagram.
As per the reports, Neeraj found a bug in Instagram due to which thumbnails could be changed in any user’s account without login and password. He apprised Instagram and Facebook about this mistake.

Neeraj was rewarded for saving several millions of people’s social media accounts, which could have been hacked.
Neeraj found a flaw in Instagram that allowed thumbnails to be changed any user’s account without login or password.
Neeraj informed Instagram and Facebook about the bug, and after it was verified, he was paid Rs 38 lakh for his eye for detail.
In a demonstration, Neeraj took only the account’s media ID to modify it, regardless of how strong the account holder’s password is.
According to Neeraj, he found the bug in last December. Later, he sent a report to Facebook about this mistake on Instagram at night and received a reply from them after 3 days.
The reply mail asked him to share a demo,’ which he did. On the night of May 11, he received another e-mail from Facebook in which they informed him that he has been rewarded of $ 45,000 (about Rs 35 lakh) for reporting the bug.
However, in lieu of the delay of quarter in giving the reward, Facebook also gave $ 4500 (about Rs 3 lakh) as a bonus.
