Yes Bank 466.51 Cr Fraud – CBI files filed a charge sheet against Yes Bank Co-Founder Rana Kapoor, Gautam Thapar and other top bank officials in connection with alleged Rs 466.51 crore bank fraud at India’s biggest private sector lender, Yes Bank.
Notably, Kapoor was not identified as a suspect in the FIR filed on June 2, last year. However, his connection in the case became clear during the investigation as per CBI.

The probing agency has also named Avantha Group promoter Gautam Thapar in its charge sheet filed before the special CBI court in Mumbai, according to sources.
On the basis of a complaint by Yes Bank Chief Vigilance Officer, Ashish Vinod Joshi, a FIR was filed against Thapar and the directors of Oyster Buildwell Pvt Ltd (OBPL)
- Raghubir Kumar Sharma,
- Rajendra Kumar Mangal, and
- Tapsi Mahajan – and
- anonymous officials of Avantha Realty Pvt Ltd and Jhabua Power Ltd.
Rana Kapoor is also charged alongside Gautam Thapar in a different case of colluding alleged misappropriation of public funds in Yes Bank.
Earlier in February, Rana Kapoor was granted bail by Special PMLA Court in Mumbai in this fraud case.
WHAT HAPPENED?- CASE DETAILS
This case is related to a loan obtained from Yes Bank Ltd by Oyster Buildwell Pvt Ltd, a holding company of Avantha Realty Limited.
According to PTI, Kapoor, then the MD and CEO of YES Bank, allegedly granted a loan to Avantha Realty in exchange for a premium location property in Delhi at nearly half its market price for himself and his family members.
