Ektaa Kapoor Lands In Legal Trouble
A court in Bihar has issued arrest warrants against Ektaa Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor.
The warrant was issued against the producer on the basis of a complaint lodged by an ex-serviceman. He had alleged that the web series ‘XXX’ (Season-2) featured several objectionable scenes related to a soldier’s wife.
The reports claim that the mother and daughter have hurt the sentiments of the soldier’s family members by insulting them through their web series XXX – season 2.
The series aired on ALTBalaji, an over-the-top platform (OTT) is owned by Ekta Kapoor’s TV company Balaji Telefilms.
It is an erotic comedy-drama with each episode featuring a different story revolving around different aspects of sexual relationships.
Ektaa Kapoor made – web series’s first season came out in 2018, while the alleged second season premiered in January 2020.
In his 2020 complaint, Kumar, an ex-serviceman, and resident of Begusarai said that the web series contained multiple objectionable scenes involving a soldier’s wife.
In pursuit of the complaint petition filed by the Ex-Indian Army Jawan, they (the Kapoors) had received a summons from the court asking them to appear before it in relation to the subject.
However, they (the Kapoors) told the court that some of the series’ sequences were cut after the objection. However, they failed to show up in court, thus a warrant was issued for their arrest.
Ektaa Kapoor is the daughter of erstwhile actor Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor.
Kapoor has Sindhi ancestry on her mother’s side and Punjabi ancestry on her father’s. Tusshar Kapoor, her younger brother, is also an actor in Bollywood.
She attended both Mithibai College and the Bombay Scottish School in Mahim for her formal education.
Ektaa Kapoor has never been wed, which means she is not married. However, she has a son named Ravi Kapoor, born on 27 Jan 2019 via surrogacy.
