WEST BENGAL – This is a terrifying narration of an incident that happened to a female teacher in WEST BENGAL who was attacked and almost stripped by a mob of guardians of few students after the teacher had scolded a girl loitering in the verandah instead of sitting in the class during the class hours.
The Intolerable incident happened in TRIMOHINI PRATAP CHANDRA HIGH SECONDARY SCHOOL in SOUTH DINJAPUR.
What is more horrifying is that even after 3days of the evidence of mob attacking the teacher, the local police have failed to take any kind of action against the attackers.
As per the local reporter, student Jarnatun Khatoon is a student of 9th class and was found roaming on the verandah instead of being in the class, which irked the teacher CHAITALI CHAKI who scolded her by holding her ear.
After the incident, Khatoon alleged that the teacher slapper on her back, and her hijab slipped down from her head. After the parents of Jarnatun Khatoon learnt about the scolding and beating at home, the parents and relatives of the student reached the school next day.
Enraged with the incident of falling hijab as told by khatoon, they entered the staff room and attacked the Female TEACHER by slapping and pulling her clothes. Chaitali’s colleagues were shocked with the sudden assault but they could not stop the mob and remained mute spectators.

A Video of the mob attacking and commotion inside the staff room, is being recorded by the staff, where guardians, few of them wearing skullcaps, can be seen assaulting the female teacher.
This incident created a massive friction in and around the school premises and in the surrounding areas, while police were posted to prevent any further violence.
The next day, Joint Block Development Officer (BDO) and the District School Inspector visited the school to enquire about the incident and talk to the teacher.
It is to be noted, that the school principal Kamal Kumar Jain the next day, had quoted that the matter has been resolved between both the parties amicably.
But, soon it was found as a hoax, and the principal himself approached the police station along with the teacher Chaitali Chaki to lodge an FIR.
In the written complaint, many persons have been named including the parents of the student MASUD KHATOON and MAFOOJA KHATOON and guardians FIRDOUS MANDAL, AFRUZA MANDAL, ZAKIR HOSSEN, etc, but no one has been detained yet.
After this horrific incident, students, parents and teachers of several other schools are demanding strict action against the mob, but nobody has been arrested by the police so far.
As a result, massive protests holding placards were carried out on Saturday in the entire South DINJAPUR district demanding action against the attackers.
Even after multiple complaints have been filed by several people and organizations including local BJP leaders, nothing has been done by the local police.
In a separate demonstration, the teachers from several schools held a protest march and came out and blocked National Highway 512 wearing black clothes on their faces.
However, later the cops have to forcibly remove the protestors from the highway after a large number of vehicles got struck due to the blockade.
All Bengali Teachers Association also held protest march holding placards at BALURGHAT condemning the incident.
