Monkeypox, a rare tropical disease looks to have been spread in Telangana. After we reported about a 34 year old man in West Delhi who diagnosed with Monkeypox Virus by National Institute Of Virology (NIV) Pune yesterday, we learnt about the 5th Case of a Kamareddy resident with Monkeypox symptoms.
The man has been admitted at the Fever Hospital in Narayanguda, Hyderabad, where he will undergo several tests to diagnose and confirm about the lesions on his skin appeared all over his body is indeed monkeypox.
This is the Fifth reported case, and has recorded four instances of MP, with one recently occurring in Delhi and three others in Kerala. As per the health authorities, a 34-year-old man from Delhi who has never travelled abroad has tested positive for the monkeypox virus.
World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared this virus a global public health emergency of international concern on saturday. However, the health experts say there is no need to panic as it is less contagious and rarely fatal.
As per the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 16k cases of monkeypox have been recorded in more than 70 countries since about May.
The outbreak of this viral disease, was confirmed in May 2022, beginning with a cluster of cases found in the UK. The first confirmed case was traced to an individual with travel links to Nigeria and was detected on 6 May 2022.
