Nepal Flood Crisis – 23 Telangana Residents Identified in Nepal — Government Steps Up Rescue Efforts
Amid the devastating floods and flash floods in Nepal, the Telangana Government has intensified efforts to trace and ensure the safety of citizens from the state who may be stranded there.
According to Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, 23 Telangana residents have been preliminarily identified based on information received from their families, relatives and close associates.
Their details have been shared with the Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), while the Telangana Government is coordinating with the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and Nepalese authorities to ascertain their whereabouts and safety.
A dedicated coordination centre has been established at Telangana Bhavan, New Delhi, along with a special control room at the Telangana Secretariat in Hyderabad.
Families of Telangana residents who may be stranded or affected in Nepal are urged not to panic and to immediately share the person’s name, passport details, mobile number, last known location and travel/tour operator details with the authorities.
