In an earnest effort to address the healthcare disparities prevalent in rural and semi-urban regions of Telangana, Nirmaan, a prominent non-profit organization headquartered in Hyderabad, has unveiled a novel initiative.
The newly inaugurated WhiteCoats Family Clinic, a joint endeavor between Nirmaan and ValueMomentum, aims to provide affordable healthcare services and bridge the gap between costly private hospitals and government healthcare facilities.

Healthcare costs in India are notably lower compared to developed countries, amounting to about one-tenth of the expenses.
However, there remains a marked imbalance in the utilization of private hospitals versus government-run healthcare centers.
Recognizing this issue, Nirmaan NGO, hailing from Hyderabad, has launched the WhiteCoats Family Clinic.
This clinic aims to deliver healthcare services at significantly reduced rates, marking a collaborative effort between Nirmaan and ValueMomentum, aligned with the latter’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mission.
The primary objective of this collaboration is to enhance healthcare accessibility in rural and semi-urban regions, with a particular focus on primary care and diagnostic services.
Mayur Patnala, the visionary founder and CEO of Nirmaan, elucidated that the dearth of primary and specialized healthcare services in these areas primarily stems from the scarcity of service providers.
The inaugural WhiteCoats clinic was established in Thumkunta three years ago, with a recent addition in Quthbullapur this Tuesday, marking its second branch.
This comprehensive clinic offers an array of services, encompassing a diagnostic laboratory, emergency services, daycare facilities, and a dedicated pharmacy.
The clinic’s adept team comprises a doctor, laboratory technician, nurse, and receptionist.
Patients can consult with the doctor during two sessions: a morning slot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and an evening slot from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
While the current emphasis lies on serving urban communities, the roadmap for the future includes the establishment of a clinic in the Borabanda slums.
Dr. Rajesh from Nirmaan envisions the creation of eight additional clinics over the next three years to further expand their impact.
Notably, the clinic is committed to offering free outpatient (OPD) services every Friday, extending free healthcare assistance to families living below the poverty line (BPL).
As part of their program, the Nirmaan team conducts comprehensive health camps, involving nine specialized physicians to address health issues prevalent in disadvantaged communities, with a specific focus on combatting anemia.
To achieve this, the team engages with a group of 100 women, inviting them to participate in a three-month-long initiative.
During this period, the women will receive essential nutrition supplies and medications to enhance their hemoglobin levels, as shared by Dr. Rajesh.
A mobile medical unit has been introduced as part of the program, intended to serve 20 different sites each month. The unit’s objectives encompass health screenings and the formulation of preventive health strategies for diagnosed individuals.
Looking ahead, Nirmaan envisions extending similar services to rural and tribal areas of the state, thus amplifying their reach and impact.
Operating on a tiered pricing structure, the WhiteCoats clinic aims to cater to the needs of the local community. The fees have been substantially subsidized, as detailed below:
- General OP (outpatient): ₹100
- Complete Blood Profile (CBP): ₹80
- Lipid Profile: ₹120
- Body Fluid Analysis: ₹200
- Semen Analysis: ₹200
