109 Individuals Booked During Early Morning Enforcement Operation Across Secunderabad Zone
In a major effort to maintain public discipline and curb anti-social activities, the Secunderabad Special Enforcement Drive conducted by Hyderabad City Police led to action against 109 individuals for public drinking, smoking, and drug consumption across the Secunderabad Zone.

The large-scale operation was carried out on May 7, 2026, between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM under the supervision of Rakshita Krishnamurthy, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Secunderabad Zone.
A total of 38 police teams were deployed as part of the Secunderabad Special Enforcement Drive, covering multiple sensitive and public locations across the zone.
Police teams conducted inspections in:
- GHMC parks
- Crematorium premises
- Areas surrounding wine shops
- Isolated and low-surveillance zones
- Other identified trouble-prone locations
Enforcement Operation Yields Multiple Cases
According to officials, the Secunderabad Special Enforcement Drive resulted in several violations being detected during the operation.
The action taken includes:
- One person detained for consuming ganja
- 28 individuals booked for smoking in public places
- 81 individuals penalized for public consumption of alcohol
Police officials stated that cases were registered against all violators under relevant provisions. In addition to legal action, the offenders were counselled and warned against repeating activities that cause inconvenience or disturbance to the public.
“The police department remains committed to ensuring safer public spaces and will continue conducting special enforcement drives against public drinking, smoking, and drug abuse,” officials said during the operation.
Focus on Public Safety and Civic Responsibility
Authorities said the Secunderabad Special Enforcement Drive was aimed at improving public safety, promoting civic responsibility, and discouraging substance abuse in open public areas.
Officials observed that public drinking and smoking not only create nuisance but also negatively impact families, commuters, and local communities.
The Hyderabad City Police indicated that similar Secunderabad Special Enforcement Drive operations will continue in the future as part of sustained efforts to prevent antisocial behavior and maintain law and order.
ACP-level officers, station house officers (SHOs), and other police personnel from across the zone actively participated in the coordinated operation.
