Lasya Nandita, one of the youngest Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) in the Telangana Legislative Assembly, met a tragic end in a road accident on Friday morning on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Patancheru, on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
According to Inspector Praveen Reddy of Patancheru, “The MLA succumbed to the accident, and the driver sustained injuries. The driver, found unconscious, and the accompanying gunman were the other occupants of the vehicle, with the MLA seated in the front. The car collided with a road crash barrier, and no other vehicles were involved at the scene.”
The deceased Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLA was traveling in her Maruti XL6 car. Praveen Reddy added, “We are awaiting the driver’s recovery to ascertain the specifics of the accident.
Lasya Nandita had entered politics following the demise of her father, Sayaanna, a well-known MLA in the Secunderabad cantonment.
Sanga Reddy Superintendent of Police, CH Rupesh, shared with HNT, “She was en route from Basara towards Gachibowli.
There is suspicion that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, resulting in significant damage to the front side of the vehicle.
Former minister and MLA Thanneer Harish Rao provided solace as they visited the body of the departed MLA, Lasya Nandita, who tragically couldn’t make it to Patancheru Hospital.

Additionally, her personal security officer sustained injuries. Initially, she was taken to a private hospital, where she was declared dead.
Her body is now being transferred to a government hospital for a post-mortem examination.
