Congress Announces Campaign Committee for Telangana Assembly Polls, Madhu Yashki Goud Appointed As Chairman – Details below
Ahead of the assembly elections in 2024 in Telangana, the ‘campaign committee’ was announced by the Congress on Friday, with the former MP Madhu Yashki Goud appointed as its chairman.
Congress General Secretary (Organization), KC Venugopal, released a statement confirming that Congress President, Mallikarjun Kharge, has given the go-ahead to establish the Campaign Committee for the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee effective immediately.
Additionally, he added, Madhu Yashki Goud has been appointed as the chair of the campaign committee. Former MP Ponguletu Srinivasa Reddy will act as co-chair, while Syed Azmathullah Husseini will serve as the committee’s convener.
Further, the party has appointed a 37-member executive committee.
In a preceding event on Friday, Kharge endorsed the suggestion to nominate AICC Lok Sabha observers. These observers are assigned to monitor the arrangement of the imminent Telangana Assembly elections.
It should be noted that the Congress party has high hopes of regaining power in the state. The party initiated its election campaign in the southern state, specifically in Khammam on July 2nd.
In the initial public gathering, former party leader Rahul Gandhi made a significant address.
