980 dancers selected for National Level Competition of Grand Finale of Vande Bharatam Nritya Utsav 2023
A grand cultural show with the theme of “Nari Shakti” will be presented during Republic Day 2023 by 500 dancers selected from the finalists.
It is to be noted that the Vande Bharatam Nritya Utsav 2023’s Grand Finale, a two-day national-level competition, was organized by the Ministry of Culture, where the participants between the ages of 17 and 30 were invited to submit entries in the genres of folk/tribal, classical, and contemporary/fusion from October 15 through November 10, 2022.
Competitions at the State-UT level and Zonal level were held between November 17 and December 10, 2022, by the seven Zonal Cultural Centers of the Ministry of Culture.
On December 19, the competition’s opening day took place at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
The competition is being held on December 20th, and 980 dancers have been chosen to compete at the national level (Grand Finale).
Vande Bharatam Nritya Utsav 2023 Highlights
- Today evening ei., On Dec 20, 2022, the Grand Finale will also include a special event at which the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Shri OM Birla, and the Union Minister for Culture, Tourism, and the North Eastern Region, Shri G.K. Reddy, will attend the occasion.
- Also, the Minister of State for Culture and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, the Minister of State for Culture and External Affairs, Shri Meenakshi Lekhi, and the Minister of State for Defense, Shri Ajay Bhatt, will all attend the Grand Finale’s special function today evening.
- The dance competition is being held as part of the Republic Day Celebration 2023 and is being organized by the Ministry of Culture on behalf of the Ministry of Defense, where the State-UT level, Zone level, and National level are the three levels at which the competition is being held.
On Republic Day 2023, the day would be celebrated with 500 dancers selected from the finalists who would present a lavish cultural production with the theme “Nari Shakti.”
To conceptualize a seamless cultural show, a creative team of renowned choreographers, composers, writers, and creative designers has been hired.
