Hyderabad will get 13 new law and order police stations in various parts of the city.
Hyderabad Commissionerate is set to receive a boost in law and order with the demarcation of jurisdictions of existing police stations to create 13 new ones.
The Telangana State government is expected to grant permission to establish 13 new police stations, 2 law and order zones, and 11 police divisions to ensure more effective and visible policing in the city.
The proposed PSs are:
- Borabanda
- Warasiguda
- Tadbun
- Bandlaguda
- Domalguda
- Lake PS
- I S Sadan
- Tolichowki
- Gudimalkapur
- Masab Tank
- Filmnagar
- Rahmathnagar and
- Khairatabad.
Also, Hyderabad Commissionerate is poised to add 11 new police divisions, including:
- Chilkalguda
- Osmania University
- Saidabad
- Golconda
- Kulsumpura
- Jubilee Hills
- S R Nagar
- Chatrinaka
- Gandhinagar
- Trimulgherry and
- Chandrayangutta.
In addition, 2 new zones – South East and South West – will be created to facilitate smooth policing.
A separate women’s safety wing will also be formed under the leadership of an official with the DCP rank, which will oversee 5 new women police stations in addition to the 2 already in existence.

It should be recalled that Hyderabad made history on International Women’s Day as K Madhulatha, a 2002-batch officer, became the first woman to head a law-and-order police station in the city’s 175-year history.

After being promoted to Inspector of Police in 2012, Madhulatha has served as the station house officer for women’s police stations in Cyberabad’s Saroornagar and Hyderabad’s South Zone.
Officials’ inputs revealed that some areas will also see an ACP rank official supervising 2 or 3 police stations to improve efficiency.
