Green Budget or Green budgeting means using the tools of budgetary policy-making to help achieve environmental and climate goals. This includes evaluating the environmental impacts of budgetary and fiscal policies and assessing their coherence toward the delivery of national and international commitments.

In October 2021, Telangana CM KCR had proposed setting up a Green Fund in the State “To develop a sense of participation and involvement by all sections of people” to improve greenery such as Urban Forest Parks, as a sustainable development goal and utilize the money for scaling up government’s environmental improving efforts.
The decision was taken during the short discussion in the Assembly on ‘Haritha Haram’ programme.
As per the reports, the forest/green cover development is the most neglected area in the country from the start and it has become inevitable with the increasing phenomenon of global warming.
