SCO Summit, First In-Person Meet In Uzbekistan.
Indian PM Shri Narendra Modi arrived in Samarkand yesterday, at the request of Uzbekistan’s President, H.E. Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to attend the 22nd Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Council of Heads of State (SCO).
When Modi arrived in Samarkand, he was greeted warmly by H.E. Mr. Abdulla Aripov, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan.
Several Ministers, the Governor of the Samarkand area, and other senior officials from the Uzbek government greeted the Prime Minister at the airport.

Today, September 16, 2022, Prime Minister will attend the SCO Summit and hold bilateral discussions with the President of Uzbekistan and some of the Summit’s other leaders.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference is planned to discuss regional security difficulties, increasing commerce and energy supply, and other topics.
After two years, the SCO is convening its first in-person summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
