On Tuesday, the government of Telangana State issued a directive to District Collectors, instructing them to provide appointment orders to Junior Panchayat Secretaries who have achieved a score of at least 70% from the District Level Performance Evaluation Committee.
This committee is responsible for evaluating the performance of candidates for the Panchayat Secretary Grade IV position.
It’s important to note that an earlier notification had been issued for the recruitment of 9,355 Junior Panchayat Secretaries on a three-year contract basis. However, this contract duration has now been extended to four years of continuous service.
It is worth noting that the Telangana State Government has established District Level Performance Evaluation Committees to systematically assess the performance of Junior Panchayat Secretaries.
Officials have been instructed to issue appointment orders exclusively to those Junior Panchayat Secretaries who were selected through the direct recruitment notification and have achieved a score of 70% or higher in the committee’s evaluation process.
For Junior Panchayat Secretaries who did not meet the 70% score requirement, their performance will be closely monitored for an additional six months.
Subsequent to this period, an evaluation committee will review their performance. If their performance during this assessment is deemed satisfactory, appropriate actions will be taken according to the official guidelines.
